5. SMS/Text Messaging Terms and Conditions
5.1 Program Name
Early Learning Children’s Academy (ELCA) Text Messaging Program, operated by Early Learning Children’s Academy.
5.2 How You Opt In
You may opt in to the ELCA Text Messaging Program by: (a) entering your mobile phone number on a form on our website (such as a Request a Tour, Contact Us, or enrollment inquiry form) and checking the box consenting to receive text messages; (b) providing written or verbal consent to staff at one of our centers or on our enrollment paperwork; or (c) texting us first at a number published by ELCA. Checking the consent box is optional. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of enrollment, tour scheduling, purchase, or any other service. By opting in, you confirm that you are the account holder or authorized user of the mobile number provided and that you are 18 years of age or older.
5.3 Program Description and Types of Messages
The ELCA Text Messaging Program is used to communicate with parents, guardians, prospective families, and other individuals who have requested information about or are enrolled in ELCA childcare programs at our Pennsylvania centers (Philadelphia/Rising Sun, Springfield, Bensalem, Fort Washington, and Buckingham). Depending on how you opted in and your relationship with ELCA, you may receive the following types of messages:
Enrollment and tour messages (prospective families)
- Replies to inquiries submitted through our website forms, phone, or email
- Tour scheduling, confirmations, reminders, and rescheduling or cancellation notices
- Follow-up after a tour, including answers to questions about programs, schedules, tuition, and availability
- Enrollment status updates, waitlist updates, and notices when a spot becomes available
- Reminders about registration forms, enrollment packet documents, and registration fee deadlines
Account and family messages (enrolled families)
- Tuition, billing, and payment reminders, including due dates and past-due notices (we will never ask for full card or bank account numbers by text)
- Reminders about required forms, health records, immunization records, and document renewals
- Start date information and first-day preparation details
- Parent-teacher conference scheduling and reminders
- Replies to questions sent to us by text
Center operations and safety messages
- Weather-related and emergency closures, delayed openings, and early dismissals
- Changes to operating hours or holiday closure schedules
- Time-sensitive center notices such as facility issues or safety alerts
Events and program information
- Family events, open houses, holiday celebrations, and center activities

Promotional messages (only if you separately agree)
- Enrollment specials, referral program offers, and seasonal promotions. We will only send promotional messages if you have agreed to receive them.
Recruiting messages (job applicants only)
- If you apply for employment with ELCA and opt in, messages about your application, interview scheduling, and onboarding.
5.4 Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on your relationship with ELCA and your interactions with us. Prospective families typically receive messages related to a specific inquiry or tour. Enrolled families may receive recurring account reminders and center notices, with additional messages during emergencies, weather events, or other time-sensitive situations.
5.5 Costs
Message and data rates may apply. ELCA does not charge for text messages, but your wireless carrier’s standard messaging and data rates may apply. Please contact your wireless carrier for details about your plan.
5.6 How to Opt Out
You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Simply reply STOP to any message from us. You may also reply END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, QUIT, or STOPALL. After you send the message, we will reply with one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive text messages from us unless you opt in again. To rejoin, sign up as you did the first time or text START to the number you previously received messages from, and we will start sending messages to you again.
You may also opt out by calling us at (248) 568-1919 or emailing [email protected]. Opting out of text messages does not affect your enrollment or any other service with ELCA. Please note that if you opt out, you will no longer receive text alerts about closures or other time-sensitive notices, and you should monitor other channels (email, phone, and our website) for that information.

5.8 Carrier Disclaimer
Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery is subject to effective transmission from your wireless carrier and is not guaranteed. ELCA is not responsible for delays or failures in delivery caused by your carrier, your device, or network conditions. Because delivery cannot be guaranteed, text messages should not be relied on as the only source of emergency or closure information.
5.9 Changes to Your Number
If you change or deactivate your mobile phone number, please notify us by replying STOP from the old number or by contacting us at (248) 568-1919 so we do not send messages to someone else.
5.10 Privacy

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
